The Gateside Cottage
The long stone barn overlooking the village green dates probably from the eighteenth century. The southern portion has all the typical features of a North Yorkshire threshing barn.
The Dairy House
This cottage is thought to be the oldest of the Manor Farm buildings. Its impressive timbers may have come from oaks in Newtondale, or from ships broken up at Whitby.
